Inverkip Cubs were joined by Cubs and Beavers from 57th Greenock and District for an "I'm a Cub Scout Get me out of Here" Camp at Everton.
 
39 young people had a fantastic time taking part in a number of Bushtucker trials over the weekend and were rewarded with an Easter Egg for their efforts!

Again this year Beavers & Cubs, will be taking part in the Armistice Day Parade in Inverkip on Sunday 14th November.

We aim to have all Beavers and Cubs attending this commemorative event. We will attend the church service before parading to the Cenotaph at Inverkip Beach for a short ceremony there.

Please make every effort to attend this important event.

You child should meet at Inverkip Church Hall at 10.15am in full uniform, Kilts for Cubs and school trousers/ skirts for Beavers, and school shoes. The parade will dismiss in Daff Avenue at 12.40 pm approximately, please pick up your child here.

Cubs and Beavers from Inverkip and Wemyss Bay were part of the 479 young people from across Inverclyde who joined in the District Fun Day at Everton.
 
They took part in a range of activities including circus skills/sumo suits/slippy slide and had a chance to try out the new Zorb Ball and Low ropes course!
 
The sun shone for our last outing of the session.  Have a great summer and we will see you all in September.

7 Cubs were joined by 3 scout helpers for a Wild West Adventure in Thornhill.
 
We made Totem Poles and Wigwams,  learned how to make a lasso and other knots.  We finished out trip with a horse riding session as part of our Equestrian badge.

Badge of the Week- global conservation badge 

  

What you have to do to earn this badge

  1. While you are working on this Badge with your group:
  2. find some examples showing how people have damaged the environment and other examples showing how people have conserved the environment

  3. find examples of where the Countryside Code is being broken and what has happened as a result.

  1. Take part as a group in two projects, such as:
  2. clearing a ditch, pond or creek

  3. making, setting up and maintaining a bird feeder, bird table, bird nesting box or bird bath

  4. looking after a piece of land or a garden

  5. tidying up a piece of wasteland

  6. taking part in an anti-litter campaign

  7. planting a tree or shrub

  8. looking after a compost bin.

  9. Choose one from the following:
  10. make a display to inform others about an animal, bird, plant, fish, etc. which is in danger of extinction

  11. organise a 'save it' campaign to encourage others to conserve energy, e.g. home insulation, fuel efficient engines, etc.

  12. take part in or start a recycling scheme, e.g. bottles, cans, waste paper

  13. visit a forest, wood or campsite and take part in a project on tree conservation. With expert help, find out how trees can be cared for
